Nibling lives in the Mac menu bar rather than the Dock. Click its menu-bar pet to open the Room, where you can switch between Room, Journal, and Letters.
Getting started
On first launch, Nibling opens its hatching ceremony. Let the pet hatch, then give it a name. After the ceremony, a click on the menu-bar pet opens the Room. A right-click opens the menu with Settings and Quit.
What you will find
- Room shows the pet’s current mood and selected moments.
- Journal keeps selected moments the pet has recorded.
- Letters contains the current Sunday Letter written about the week it experienced.
Settings includes the pet’s name, individual signal toggles, launch-at-login, and the “Notify me about letters and milestones” option.
Backup and notifications
Optional iCloud Drive backup uses your Apple account when it is available through macOS iCloud settings. Nibling uses a usable local pet first and may restore an existing backup only when no usable local pet is present. Backup availability is controlled by macOS.
Notifications are opt-in. Enabling “Notify me about letters and milestones” asks macOS for alert and sound authorisation, then allows local Sunday Letter and milestone notices.
Report a problem
